WASH PROGRAMS
- Sweep Clean Programs: this program targets places where our target population resides. These places include fishing villages and households. We participate in sweeping, cleaning, and learning of rubbish in these affected areas. We also do sensitization on the same.
- On water, hygiene and sanitation (WASH) Services: the Centre target improving sanitation and hygiene in households and beaches where these kids live and reside. The program has so far provided 3 trash cans to three fishing villages, 30 water cans with taps (for storing treated drinking water) to 30 families, over 200 water guard chemicals (for treating drinking water) in more than 50 households. This initiative was implemented late 2015 where we also managed to provide a one-time feeding program to the same households. We provided food stuff (grains, sugar and detergents) to help feed these kids back at home. Thanks to Kelly Makino and Les Write, who gave this first donation for the program has these households to have clean drinking water and as a result, reduced deaths and spread of waterborne diseases in the community.
